Winter doesn't have to end when the trails are covered in snow. Our Snowshoe & YakTrax outings offer a fun way to explore Park City's beautiful winter landscapes while staying active with fellow club members.

Throughout the season, we organize hikes on a variety of local trails around Park City, including favorites such as Flying Dog, Ontario Ridge, Lost Prospector, Woodside Gulch, and Summit Park, along with occasional adventures into the Uinta Mountains and other nearby destinations.

Outings range from easy winter walks to more challenging hikes, with distances and elevation varying by event. Depending on trail conditions, leaders may recommend YakTrax (or other traction devices), snowshoes, or occasionally both. Each event description clearly outlines the expected difficulty, terrain, equipment recommendations, and meeting location.

Whether you're looking for a leisurely winter hike, scenic snowshoe adventure, or a more strenuous day on the trail, there's an outing for a variety of fitness and experience levels.

What should I bring?

Dress in warm layers and waterproof footwear, and bring water, snacks, and trekking poles if you use them. Depending on conditions, you'll also want to bring YakTrax or other traction devices, snowshoes, or both. Event descriptions will indicate the recommended equipment for each outing.
